Czar's Sample of the Week
It's another week and with that comes another sample gem by our resident expert Czar. The dude is a legend and honestly I have NO idea how he figures these samples out because most of them are not listed in the liner notes. This week Czar gives us the Kiley Dean track "Kiss Me Like That" Did I know Timbo used a sample? Nope I figured he just had a guitar player in the studio.
The track actually samples the Allison Krauss & Union Station's "Crazy Faith" Tim was going through his whole bluegrass/country phase with both the Kiley Simple Girl and Bubba Sparxxx Deliverance album so it's fitting he used this sample. Take a listen...
So there you have it another sample mystery solved by Czar the great! Does anyone have any requests about certain Timbo track samples? Just ask Czar or myself and we'll try our best to get you the answers. I'm just waiting for Czar to blow my mind with the Brandy "Nodding Off" sample or something.

Does he intently go out to seek Timbaland samples? How does he do it!?! It's amazing, I know a few of them, but many are a mystery...
I do have a few questions, do you know the title to the song that was sampled in Call Me [Tweet]? The artist is Shabs Jobunputra, I think?

Lots of those the great Czar has already found lol. Kelis - Running Mate was a video-game sounding sample from a Sample CD, the HEY in Dream was from that song Whats Love Got to Do With It, can't remember who by. That Nas song was from this far quicker melody, perhaps from an arabian thing, but sounds like a carnival to me. Exodus 04 was from this arabian track too.

Tom, that's a long list of questions and I'm going to try to answer all of them.
1. I think the guitar is a sample, but I don't know what it is.
2. Sirens is a sample, I think it's off a bollywood movie.
3. No sample in "She Tried." People think that Tim got the idea from a video game (Chrono Cross I think is the name), but the strings are by the Clark Brothers (Larry Gold didn't have anything to do with this track).
4. "Who the Fuck Is This" samples Baby Huey's track "Hard Times."
5. Not sure on the Muniz track.
6. It's sampled, but I don't know what song he sampled.
7. Probably off a sample cd.
8. Off video game sample cd.
9. "Bonnie and Clyde" by Serge Gainsbourg (I fucked up the last name, but that's it).
10. Yes...but I'm not tellin lol (dig in some library records).
11. Yes, but don't know the sample.
12. Yes, but don't know the sample.
13. Don't know which version he sampled...they all pretty much sound the same.
14. There are samples in taht song...I only know where the "hey" is from tho.

Czar is OK at the diggin' ish but he gets alot of help he doesn't acknowledge like The-Breaks for example.
Actually you're wrong Czar has told me a lot about The Breaks and what a cool place it is to get sample info and what not so I joined the forum.
