Timbaland leaks a new track
So here's yet another Timbaland radio interview from Elliott in the Morning but this time Tim has a few surprises for us. Check them out:

So I wonder if the Missy biopic will ever happen. It would be interesting to have all the Super Friends Crew back together for the movie.
So finally we hear Timbaland's side of the "Do It" controversy. Tim says the sample is from a video game (or so he thought) and did not steal anyone's beat. He admits to sampling but not to stealing. The dude probably has thousands upon thousands of sounds, added to that he's busy as hell so he doesn't have time to know which sound is what but he admits he did sample. Hoepfully we can all move on from this and let the lawyers work it out now.
What you all think about Tim & Trent Reznor, Tim & Metallica, Tim & Pearl Jam, and Tim & Sade? Sounds real cool to me. I think Reznor and Tim would be pure insanity!
And finally here is another single from Shock Value. The track features The Hives and is called "Throw It On Me" What do ya'll think? Hot track?

Plus it's not a sample, it's the whole damn original song embedded in "Do it".

Timbaland should look up what Intellectual Property Theft means, he seems to have forgotten.
Well, that's certainly a clever, yet poorly articulated way to admit to ripping off an artist!
I'm sure his legal team loved how he cleared that one up.

if tim is telling hip hop is boring and hes doin some differnt stuff..this track isnt a new tim just that he dont sample from the hives..the hives play it for him..and i dont like his vocals...

I think this track is reeeeeal hot... its so different which is why it may have a bit of a love/hate split for music fans, probably because they don't like anything out of their comfort zone.
He's kinda right about the public domain thing along with his huge sounds to sample etc... he could have sorted it out better, perhaps get more arrangements for sampling - but this Do It controversy has done the finnish artist good if anything - i mean it's not like the old track is doing anything else. He ultimately helped compile an album that people enjoy, and a track which i know I enjoy.

He's dead wrong about this Public Domain thing. Nothing is Public Domain unless explicitly placed to PD. If something doesn't mention the license or credits, one must assume it is copyrighted work. This is elementary copyright knowlege, and someone like Tim knows it pretty damn well. He's dumb as f*ck or just playing dumb (probably latter).
I don't even bother going into other idiocies, such as comparing copyright infrigiment to physical theft.
I think tims telling the truth it sure seems as if there is alot of hate towards tim on here i liked the hives song and his voice was cool sorta like sexyback he is still timbo the king and i like pharrell so for me to say that it means something
I love the track it's just amazing. But what im worried about is being called a biter. What about all the Producers/Beatmakers out there thats been doing tracks like this. fuseing diffrent genres of music together, people are going to start thinking Tim started this style of so called "New Music"
But I dont know I guess its just a personal opinon. But Tims gonna kill it.

"Throw it on me" is not his strongest track ever. But hey Timbo is trying new things and thats what we like aboput him.

I think its a "acquired taste" type song like Sexyback. At 1st it might not be your favorite but as it continues you begin to love it.

Like Timbaland was just sitting around wasting his time to search for a sample to steal for a Nelly Furtado song, that's not even a single, and doesn't give credit for it even though he's given credit for every other thing he's sampled because he's evil and wants to make money, right? You need to understand how it is to be an artist and have somone use what you have created without permission to make money. its not right. I love in the Elliot interview how when hes asked if he gets ripped off he answers "all the time" but when asked if he rips people off he says "i never went in anyones house and took it", and the whole controversy is about him.

i respected him before, but now i see he's just a cheap hustler with a now how in the studio.
he should at least credit the poor chap whose melody it is, i mean if he actually asked tempest in the first place i'm sure he would have let him use it for free!!
No ones seems to realise that producers like Timbaland listen to 1000's of tunes a week....and they sample the best of them for a track, most of the time improving them. How could he have knows who it was from.
The original producer didnt even bother to register his song in he US, how can he then blame Timbaland producer for not paying any royalty. There are like millions of old C64 tunes on the internet....of which most are based on each other. I know since I used to make them.
I think Timba made the sample into a hit, he mixed it with Nelly Furtado's voice....he put the parts together.
So one part he used was an obscure C64 sample..........without Timba it would have never been more than that. The original producer should be proud his obscure mod file is used as part in a hit song.
Instead he smells money and comes after Timbaland.
